THE INVASIONOF THE TEARLING by Erika Johansen
Erika Johansen delivers a sequel to The Queen of the Tearling that is equally as thrilling and captivating. The author manages to capture all the grit, magic, and action of the first book and kick it up even more.
THE QUEEN OF THE TEARLING by Erika Johansen
A completely fascinating beginning to a story that will no doubt have many twists and turns. Erika Johansen brought me into world of the Tearling and I didn’t want to leave.
Sugar Bowl Series by Sawyer Bennett
This sexy, raw, honest, and emotional series will take its hold of you with Sugar Daddy and keep you on the edge of your seat until Sugar Free. Sawyer Bennett just shot to the top of my favorite romantic suspense authors list.
THE YEAR WE TURNED FORTY by Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke
Washington Square Press
Who doesn't wish that they could have a re-do? I know I would love that...if not to correct some fashion mistakes in my past.
In THE YEAR WE TURNED FORTY, the characters have a chance to change the way their lives turned out. Filled with regret, the women in this book make an unlikely journey back in time. Normally, you would think that this would be campy or silly, but the way that the authors wrote it, it came across as plausible. Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke took a story about second chances and twisted it into something fresh and enjoyable. The book is funny, heartfelt, and sincere. I loved reliving the lives of the characters with them.
There is something very exciting coming this Fall from author Nina Lane and myself. Right now…research…lots and lots of image research. This is going to be so much fun!
THE ASSISTANTS by Camille Perri
G.P. Putnam's Sons
A smart, witty, and completely enjoyable book about what happens when one choice snowballs into a much larger chain reaction. The author constructs a story that is honest as well as funny all the while delivering characters that are just fabulous. This debut novel is truly a great read. I cannot wait to see what is next for Camille Perri.
As I was walking through my local library on my search for healthy living books, I was stopped by a bright yellow spine with the title The Calorie Myth. Then I pulled it off the shelf and read the subtitle: How to Eat More, Exercise Less, Lose Weight, and Live Better. As you can imagine, I was intrigued. I mean, come on...eating more and exercising less to loose weight...I had to read this one.
THE VERSIONS OF US by Laura Barnett
Houghton Mifflin Harcourt
This is a wonderfully written story about the different paths that can be taken in one's life. By seeing the story of Eva and Jim in three different scenarios, the reader is able to see what would have happened if certain decisions were made. What I loved about this book is the writing. The author managed to give each version of the characters their own feelings and attitudes while still keeping who they are at heart.
