A Certain Age

A CERTAIN AGE by Beatriz Williams
William Morrow
4 star rating

A CERTAIN AGE is a wonderfully written story of that brings together the glitz and glamour of the Jazz Age with the secrets, scandal, and love of the characters within these pages. Throughout the story, I felt as if I were transported back to an era that has always fascinated me. However, while reading, there was still a modernity and freshness to the characters that I liked even more. These characters are what made me keep reading. The back and forth between the young, naive Sophie and the older, more experienced Theresa gave the reader two perspectives of what love can be at different stages in one’s life. All in all, this was an enjoyable read.

Gary delivers another witty and delightful read that doesn’t shy away from the reality or emotion that presents itself in day to day life. The author manages to pull together a story with just the right amount of sass, heart, and sexy. In truth, I have been waiting for Gracie and Eric’s story since I first started reading the Rock Canyon Series. Now that I have finished it, I want to read it again.

I am Jim Henson Banner

There is nothing about this series of books that I don't like. Not only do they open a world of history to kids, they are fun to read as adults. Truth be told...I learned a little something while reading many of the books in the series. In I AM JIM HENSON, the reader gets to revisit the life of one of the most creative people in our history. The pages show us his ups and downs, but also that he kept going. This is a great message to send to kids. If you want something, you have to keep going until you get it.

Book Review for When All The Girls Have Gone by Jayne Ann Krentz

WHEN ALL THE GIRLS HAVE GONE by Jayne Ann Krentz
Berkley
4 star rating

In Jayne Ann Krentz’s latest, the author gives us a suspenseful story with a sweet romance on the side. The twists and turns are made even more compelling by the fast-paced nature of the book. However, the dynamic of Charlotte and Max is truly what kept me reading. I loved seeing the two banter and how they reacted to what they were uncovering as the investigation progressed.
