I'M TRAVELING ALONE by Samuel Bjørk
Penguin Books
5 star ratingMy Highly Caffeinated Thought: Suspenseful and addictive police procedural Nordic crime novel.

I’M TRAVELING ALONE is an edgy, suspenseful, and thrilling crime novel that shows what good noir can truly be. In all honesty, there isn’t one aspect of this novel that I didn’t love. While reading, I devoured the pages as if I were on the hunt for the killer myself.

What can I say about this book? Since the minute I heard that THE STAR-TOUCHED QUEEN was going to have a follow-up novel, I was so excited. Now that I have read it, I am in awe of the author’s ability to weave together such a magnificent tale. The richness in her writing and talent for bringing imagery to life enhances the story in such a way that the reader cannot help but get drawn into this world. I honestly didn’t think it was possible for Roshani Chokshi to outdo herself, but she did. The mystical elements and the emotion that fill these pages will captivate and beguile. This is a must read for 2017.

Blog Tour & Book Review for FAITHLESS by Kjell Ola Dahl

FAITHLESS by Kjell Ola Dahl
Orenda Books
4 star rating

I have been on a Nordic mystery and thriller kick lately, so when I heard about FAITHLESS by Kjell Ola Dahl, I was really excited have the chance to read it. The book is a slow-burning mystery that concentrates heavily on police procedure. In fact, it is the investigation aspects and the way that the author reveals the case to the reader that hooked me the most. The writing was not only smart and quit-witted, but the skill and development of the mystery was truly masterful.
